Kesko's sales in November 2010
KESKO CORPORATION STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 15.12.2010 AT 09.00 1(2)
The Kesko Group's sales, excluding VAT, totalled 763.6 million in November 2010, an increase of 10.7%.
In the food trade, sales in November were 332.8 million, an increase of 8.7%. The sales to K-food store chains were up by 9.1%.
In the home and speciality goods trade, sales in November were 148.6 million, an increase of 3.1%. The sales of clothing and winter sports goods increased most.
In the building and home improvement trade, sales in November were 220.4 million, an increase of 22.8%. Sales in Finland were up by 29.4%. Sales abroad increased by 17.7% in terms of euros and by 14.1% in terms of local currencies. In the Baltic countries, sales were up by 7.7%. In Russia, sales increased by 23.2% in terms of euros and by 21.2% in terms of the local currency.
In the car and machinery trade, sales in November were 74.4 million, a comparable increase of 20.7% VV-Auto's sales in November were 56.1 million, up 22.9%. In Finland, new registrations of passenger cars increased by 31.6% in November. The market share of passenger cars represented by VV-Auto was 16.5% (17.1%). Konekesko's sales in November were 18.4 million, down 36.8%. Konekesko's comparable sales development was 14.5%. The comparable sales development in the car and machinery trade in January-November was 10.4%. The impact of the car tax reform (starting from 1 April 2009) and the discontinuation of the grain and agricultural supplies trade in the Baltic countries have been eliminated from the comparable sales.

In November 2010, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was 22, which was one more than in November 2009. The total number of wholesale selling days in January-November was one more than in the previous year. The number of retail selling days in November was 28, which was one less than in the previous year. The total number of retail selling days in January-November was 24 more than in the previous year.
The sales from operations in Finland presented in this release include the export sales of the companies in Finland (previously exports were included in the sales of other countries). The comparative figures have been restated to reflect the change in presentation.
