Kesko will open an Anttila department store, an Intersport megastore, a Musta Pörssi home technology store and an Andiamo shoe store in the Sello shopping centre in Leppävaara, Espoo. The stores will be opened in the second phase of the shopping centre in autumn 2005. The first phase of the centre has already been completed. At the moment, Sello is the biggest store site project of Keswell Ltd, a Kesko subsidiary that is responsible for the home and speciality goods trade.
The Anttila department store to be built in Leppävaara will significantly strengthen the chain’s network in the Greater Helsinki area. The store will be built on two levels on the second and third floors of the shopping centre and its total area will be about 4,600 m2.
The area of the Intersport megastore will be about 1,800 m2 and it will be the fifth Intersport store in the megastore size category in the Greater Helsinki area. The floor area of Musta Pörssi will be around 500 m2 and that of Andiamo around 400 m2.
In all, the Anttila department store, Intersport, Musta Pörssi and Andiamo will employ about 120 persons. About 42,500 m2 of business premises will be built in the second phase of Sello, increasing the total floor area to some 81,500 m2. There will be parking spaces for over 2,500 cars. The project will be implemented by Leppävaaran Liikekeskus Oy, which is owned by three pension insurance companies: the Finnish Local Government Pensions Institution, the LEL Employment Pension Fund and Pension Fennia
