K Group part of the “Enter 2020” campaign of Finnish organisations aiming to ensure a safe return to a more normal everyday life

The Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK) and ten leading Finnish companies are joining forces to try and help Finland return to a more normal life as safely as possible. The “Enter 2020” campaign by EK and the organisations will gather best practices for safe work, shopping, healthcare appointments, using public transport and many other areas of life on a shared public platform.

The purpose of the campaign is to help establish a new normal for Finland and to get the economy back on track as fast and safely as possible. The organisations involved will be openly sharing their and their sector’s best practices and their own exit plans.

The campaign organisations will share their best practices on the enter2020.fi website, where other organisations can join them later on. By openly sharing information, the campaign wants to bring new ideas, practices and innovations to work, shopping and other areas of life. K Group will initially share instructions for safe shopping.

The other organisations participating in the campaign are Elisa, Fortum, KONE, OP Financial Group, Valio, VR Group and VTT. The project was initiated by the Confederation of Finnish Industries. Mehiläinen and Terveystalo participate in the capacity of occupational health experts.

The Enter 2020 campaign wants to encourage organisations to help their employees, customers, partners and key stakeholders to increase their level of activity, promote innovation, improve present and future competitiveness, and increase the society’s readiness to return to a new kind of everyday life with safety at the forefront.

Visit the campaign website at enter2020.fi for more information and ideas (in Finnish).

People are also returning to K-Kampus

A return to new normal and office work will also begin gradually on K Group’s main office building K-Kampus from the beginning of June onwards. Employees have been divided into two groups that alternate between working on K-Kampus and working remotely. Other safety measures include observing safe distances, limiting the number of elevator passengers, good hand hygiene, and serving lunch in shifts.

“K Group has played a crucial role in ensuring the functioning of the Finnish society throughout the epidemic. With most of K Group’s employees having continued to work in stores and logistics, we have a gained a lot of experience of measures to enhance safe shopping and working. We will use this experience to establish new ways of working at the office, too,” says Matti Mettälä, Kesko’s EVP of Human Resources.
